Policy and Terms for CATA Muslim Business and NGO Forum
1. Purpose and Objectives
The Cambodian Amanah Takaful Association (CATA) is establishing a unified platform for Muslim NGOs, businesses, and community leaders to support the following objectives:
• Charity Contributions: To provide financial aid, resources, and services for underprivileged Muslim communities.
• Networking: To create a robust network for collaboration and support between NGOs, businesses, and individuals within the Muslim community.
• Training: To deliver skill-building and professional development opportunities for members.
• Information Sharing: To distribute valuable insights and updates from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce, and other regulatory bodies.
• Compliance and Legal Adherence: To guide members in fulfilling legal obligations and following regulations pertinent to NGOs and businesses.
• Advocacy: To raise awareness and drive initiatives promoting prosperity, rights, and economic empowerment for the Muslim community in Cambodia.
2. Membership Categories and Annual Fees
• Individual Businesses and NGOs: Annual contribution fee of $150.
• Companies and Organizational Partners: Annual contribution fee of $300.
3. Member Responsibilities
• Active Participation: Members are expected to contribute time, knowledge, or resources to CATA’s initiatives, attend meetings, and actively engage in forum activities.
• Fee Contributions: Members must fulfill the annual fee to maintain active status in the forum.
• Adherence to Policy: Members must comply with all policies and participate in training or sessions related to legal and regulatory updates.
4. Coordination and Governance
• Staff Coordinators: CATA will appoint 3-5 coordinators responsible for organizing events, managing member engagement, facilitating training, and ensuring the effective operation of forum initiatives.
• Board of Forum: The forum will be governed by an elected board, representing member interests, setting strategic objectives, and steering CATA’s activities in alignment with its mission.
5. Election and Tenure
• Election Cycle: Board members will be elected every two years, ensuring fresh perspectives and continued alignment with the community’s needs.
• Eligibility: Members in good standing are eligible to stand for election, vote, and hold office within the forum.
6. Amendments and Updates
CATA reserves the right to amend this policy as necessary, with due consideration for feedback from members. Amendments will be communicated in advance and will require member endorsement in cases of significant changes.
7. Acceptance of Terms
By joining CATA’s Muslim Business and NGO Forum, members agree to these terms and commit to supporting CATA’s mission to strengthen and uplift Cambodia’s Muslim community.
