Executive Summary
The Cambodian Amanah Takaful Association (CATA) is dedicated to supporting the underprivileged during the holy month of Ramadan. In 2025, we aim to provide 2,500 food packages to families in need, ensuring they have access to essential food items to break their fast. We are seeking the generous support to help raise the necessary funds for this initiative, with a total budget of 100,000 Riels (USD25.00) per package.
The reward of feeding the fasting in Ramadan
In Islam, feeding the hungry is a highly rewarded act of worship. At Iftar time, Allah (SWT) shows special mercy and love to those who have been fasting, and especially to those who have provided food for others at Iftar time.
The significance of providing Iftar for others is emphasised in the following Hadith:
Whoever helps break the fast of a fasting person will have the same reward as the one [who fasted] without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person.
Project Objectives
- Provide Essential Food Supplies: To distribute 2,500 food packages during Ramadan, each containing staple food items that are crucial for breaking the fast.
- Support Vulnerable Families: To assist low-income families who struggle to afford basic food items during the month of Ramadan.
- Promote Community Solidarity: To foster a sense of community and support among the citizens of Cambodia during this auspicious time.

- Elderly individuals living alone
Food Packages
Food Package: Each package will contain essential non-perishable food items like rice, milk, cooking oil, canned fish, sugar, soy sauce, noodles, fish sauce, chia seeds, and dates, sufficient to sustain a family for days or an entire month of Ramadan.
Distribution: Transparent and accountable distribution process through local volunteers and community leaders. We accept every amount of donations, as food, as donations for the package(s), and as sharing (company) for the package(s).

Total Fundraising Goal
- Number of Packages: 2,500 (however, partners and donors can contribute more or less based on their ability).
- Total Amount Needed: USD 62,500
Implementation Plan
- Phase 1: Fundraising (November 2024 – January 2025)
- Launch fundraising campaigns through social media, community outreach, and partnerships with local businesses.
- Phase 2: Procurement (February 2025)
- Purchase food items from local suppliers, ensuring quality and quantity.
- Phase 3: Distribution (March 2025)
- Organize a distribution event in the community, with volunteers assisting in the packing and delivery of food packages.
Impact Measurement
CATA will track the number of food packages distributed and gather feedback from recipients to measure the program’s effectiveness. We will also document the impact through photographs and testimonials, which will be shared with Donors as part of our reporting.
